What is freedom and independence? How have we come to celebrate Juneteenth?  We celebrate Juneteenth as a federal holiday because formerly enslaved people and their descendants advocated\, organized and marched for decades to have this day recognized and celebrated. \nIn this Freedom Festival Conversation\, Drs. Raquell Holmes and Jessie Fields lead us in a walk through our movements for freedom.
