Are You Mad Like Me? : Reimagining Psych Cemetery Spaces

“Are you mad like me? / Have you seized back your dreams / in the fists of your crumpled wings?” In this proof-of-concept performance-lecture, spoken word poet, sci-fi writer, and performance activist Steven T. Licardi introduces us to the remains of several state hospital cemeteries scattered around the United States and abroad. He will be sharing works of original film, photography, and poetry, composed and capture on-site, and will be inviting participants to imagine the future of these forlorn spaces. Part performance, part memoir, this event represents nearly a decade of reflection on the part of the artist, and represents an invitation to reflect with him. Come prepared to be both disturbed and overjoyed.
